Alona teaches communicative Yiddish language courses and workshops at both academic and cultural institutions. In 2022-2023, she was the instructor for Beginning and Intermediate Yiddish at Brandeis University.

She was a 2022-2023 Pedagogy Fellow at the Yiddish Book Center.
